Dead hatchlings are pictured on a beach on Bangkaru Island, Sumatra, Indonesia. As climate change increases, so will heatwaves that pushes sand tempurature up and up eventually becoming to hot for turtle hatchlings. Bangkaru and Simeulue Islands located of the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. Green and leatherback turtles nest on these islands 365 days of the year. Sadly the beaches are covered in plastic, creating another obsticale for hatchings to conquer on their way to the ocean.
