A sperm whale (Physter macrocephalus) is pictured from the Greenpeace Helicopter in the Pacific Ocean, 10th September 2009. Greenpeace is campaigning for the establishemnet of marine reserves spanning the four pockets of international waters in the Pacific Ocean. The proposed areas are home to the endangered leatherback turtles, minke and sperm whales and other deep-sea life, and provide vital feeding and breeding areas for the region's lifeline.
