A ranger from the Ugandan Wildlife Authority stands infront of Snare Mountain. Thousands of snares weighing in at over 12 tons. Collected by Government rangers on patrol in less than a year in Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park, representing the ongoing threats in Uganda and the worlds biodiversity and the critical work of rangers on the front lines. It was created on assignment for @globalconservation and @ugandacf. These bear traps and snares are capable of taking legs and feet off animals or killing them in horrific pain. I can only imagine what it must feel like to have one of these locked around my foot! It’s really is a critical time for all wild places across the globe and the ongoing demand for wildlife, exotic pets and wildlife products is always increasing. It is a war on nature.
