Native forest is cleared using feller bunchers at a logging camp in The Great Koala National Park. Under logging laws called ‘Integrated Forestry Operations Approvals’ protection for wildlife is reduced, including in prime Koala habitat. Since 2108 one of the worst changes has been the introduction of an intensive harvesting zone of over 140,000 hectares of coastal forest between Taree and Grafton, this area covers many of the forests proposed to be included in the Great Koala National Park.
